Blast Off

Originally designed by Disney and Bob Rogers’ Imagination Arts, the official visitor center for NASA’s Johnson Space Center was in need of renewal. Space Center Houston approached VCA to create the first new attraction in their ten-year history. They wanted to re-create the launch of a Space Shuttle in a room with a 10-foot (3m)ceiling. VCA created the immersive special effects experience, Blast Off!

The show consisted of three HD projections to create an immersive visual experience of the pre-launch activities, the Space Shuttle launch and the docking with the International Space Station.

Liquid nitrogen fog effects were used to envelop the audience as well

Also for Space Center Houston, VCA re-designed the aging Mission Briefing Theater and created a new interactive show called
